Why have I never seen Donnie Darko (2001) before?

I really enjoyed it.

The real question, though, is what the fuck happened? I know what the director says happened, but I am trying to put together an interpretation myself.

I do know that it really ensnared my imagination. The picture was beautiful, and the characters were entirely believable–to the degree to which they were intended to be believed.
